17th century
The 17th-century palace was built by the Lopez family, originally from Spain, who came to Trani in the 16th century. The founder of the Trani lineage, Giuseppe Lopez, was a man-at-arms with Charles II and Charles III. Later, the palace passed to the Petta, a family related to the Lopez family. The palace was recast and consists of a ground floor in stone and an upper floor in calcarenite with alternating ashlars.
